How to Use Montessori 3 Part Cards

Montessori 3 Part cards are a simple and effective tool that can be used to teach just about any subject. Incredibly versatile by design, 3 Part Cards are most often used with children ages 3-6, but can be adapted to use by just about any age.

In these videos I'll show you how you can use 3 Part Cards with your kids.

Understanding Montessori 3 Part Cards

In this video I'll explain how to print and cut your 3 Part cards, and give you the basic information on giving a lesson with them.

The First Lessons

William has graciously agreed to share a video of a recent lesson I gave him on the Stations of the Cross. I hope you all appreciate the "real life" aspects of this video which include but are not limited to: kicking works on the shelf, nose picking, a delightful permanent marker doodle on Will's face, and the baby crying in the background.

The Next Lesson

Once your child has mastered the first lesson (by which I mean he or she can correctly identify the cards), you can move on to the next lesson, which is having them match the object card to the control card.

William again graciously agreed to demonstrate.

Next Steps: 3 Part Card Lessons for Children Who are Readers

In this last lesson, you'll see G complete the independent work of matching the object and the label cards, checking her own work with the help of the control cards.
