Thanksgiving Craft

If you’re in need of a simple and yet thoughtful Thanksgiving craft, look no further than this I’m Thankful Turkey!

Here’s what to do:

Download the PDF below for the turkey body and feathers pattern (feet and beak included as well) and print as many copies as you need.

Then, simply write, color, and glue your turkey together. We mounted ours on construction paper and added googly eyes.

G thought long and hard about what to write on her feathers. Side note: the lines on the feathers make for creative handwriting practice

You could also use the feathers and body shapes as outlines, and then trace them onto construction paper to create a more colorful turkey.

I’m sure I don’t have the only kids who love to tear the paper off of crayons . . . .

We used construction paper for the beaks and legs but white paper for the bodies and feathers.

We used the sides of our crayons to color the turkey feathers, so as keep the words readable. G chose to use the side to color the turkey’s body as well, but as you can see, William went with a more traditional method.

G gluing her feathers on.

Depending on your child’s skill set, you may need to help with cutting and supervise gluing. G was able to do all of the steps on her own, William needed help.

I had them glue the bodies on first, and then slip the feathers in behind.
